UGC-NET examination irregularities

• The National Testing Agency (NTA) has ordered a re-conduct of the UGC-NET examination for three subjects: English, sociology, and commerce.
• The decision follows a review committee's findings that these papers contained factual, typographical, and translation errors.
• Specific defects identified include misspelt names of scholars, garbled book titles, grammatical errors, and the repetition of a significant number of questions from previous years.
• The NTA stated that the affected papers failed to meet the standards of fairness and error-free examination.
• Re-exams for English and commerce are scheduled for September 9, and for sociology on September 10.
• No additional examination fees will be charged to the affected candidates.
