• The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET-PG examination for 2,73,096 registered candidates.
• The exam was held across 1,111 centres in 339 cities, covering all 36 States and Union Territories.
• 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the exam, with oversight provided by 2,527 Independent Appraisers and over 700 flying squad members.
• A technical disruption due to internal power failure at two centres in Jaipur, Rajasthan, affected 2,445 candidates.
• The Union Health Ministry attributed the power failure to the examination conducting agency, TCS Ltd.
• A three-member committee, including representatives from the Rajasthan government, the Union Health Ministry, and the Central Electricity Authority, has been formed to investigate the incident.
• A re-examination for the 2,445 affected candidates is scheduled for September 5.
