Coal gasification scheme uptake

The Ministry of Coal has received seven applications for financial assistance under the coal gasification project scheme.
Applicants include Adani Enterprises (three applications for coal-to-urea plants), Shyam Sel & Power Limited (syngas), Gallantt Ispat Ltd. (direct reduced iron and syngas), NTPC Ltd. (synthetic natural gas), and Talcher Fertilisers (urea gasification).
The government utilizes a rolling window system for application submissions to encourage participation.
The second round of the rolling application window commenced on September 8 following the conclusion of the first round.
The Ministry of Coal reports that additional prospective applicants are currently in advanced stages of project preparation for future windows.
