Digitisation of property records in Lal Dora villages

Lal Dora refers to the 'red line' demarcated by the British in 1908 to define rural habitation (abadi) zones.
Historically, Lal Dora areas were exempt from building norms, but lacked formal, authenticated property documentation.
The Delhi government is currently digitising property records in these areas to improve transparency and security.
The project involves surveying properties and issuing smart property cards to eligible residents.
As of the latest review, 12,232 properties have been surveyed.
Of the surveyed properties, 8,423 are confirmed as dispute-free, with smart card generation in progress.
All surveyed properties in the South and North West districts of Delhi are currently classified as dispute-free.
