Three Great Indian Bustard (GIB) chicks have been moved to a rewilding tunnel at the Godawan Conservation Centre in Ramdevra, Jaisalmer.
The facility cost ₹9.25 crore and aims to prepare captive-bred birds for survival in the wild.
The rewilding process involves minimizing human contact and replicating the natural habitat of the GIB.
The GIB is the state bird of Rajasthan.
The chicks will be monitored via CCTV for four months, with food provided without direct human interaction.
Post-rewilding, the chicks are scheduled to be released into the Desert National Park.
