Arrests in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for JeM links

Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested eight individuals across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh for alleged links to the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
The accused were allegedly working to establish a terror network, recruit members, and plan attacks in Gujarat and other parts of India.
The group received ₹3 lakh in funding, which was used to purchase an old vehicle and arrange for hideouts.
Evidence recovered includes over 250 pieces of jihadi literature, with some materials translated into Gujarati to facilitate wider circulation.
Radicalisation was reportedly driven by a combination of social media, YouTube, and extremist interpretations of religious teachings.
Legal proceedings have been initiated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The investigation is examining links to religious seminaries and the broader logistical support network provided by the group to operational teams.

Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested five individuals in connection with a terror module linked to the banned Pakistan-based outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Total arrests in the case have reached 13 individuals.
The suspects were apprehended in the Patan district of Gujarat.
Investigation findings suggest the accused were operating out of a Madrasa in Patan since 2023.
Alleged activities included training in assembling Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), learning bomb detonation techniques, and circulating extremist literature.
The accused have been remanded to eight days of police custody for further investigation.
