Pro-separatist book controversy in J&K

The Jammu & Kashmir administration suspended eight School Education Department officials following the discovery of 'pro-separatist' content in a book titled 'Personalities and Legends of J&K'.
Two authors and publishers associated with the book have been blacklisted by the administration.
The book was published under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, which is intended for distribution in 18,328 government schools and 394 PM SHRI schools.
The administration cited 'negligence, dereliction of duty and lack of proper due diligence' by the sub-committee and supervisory officers as the reason for the disciplinary action.
The official stance is that the content posed a risk to law and order.

Counter Intelligence Jammu (J&K Police) is investigating controversial content in books distributed to government school libraries.
The books in question are 'Personalities and Legends of J&K' (by Hilal Ahmad and Santosh Meena) and 'Great Personalities of Jammu and Kashmir' (by Sushant Giri).
The investigation focuses on allegations of the glorification of separatists within these publications.
The books were circulated under the Samagra Shiksha programme, a Central scheme for school education.
Approximately 251 copies of these books were distributed to schools across Jammu and Kashmir.
