Haryana-Rajasthan Yamuna water project

Haryana and Rajasthan signed an agreement for the implementation of the Yamuna Water Project.
The project aims to convey Rajasthan's allocated share of Yamuna water via an underground pipeline from the Western Yamuna Canal.
The water allocation is based on the 1994 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the sharing of utilisable surface waters of the Upper Yamuna Basin.
Signatories to the 1994 MoU include Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Uttarakhand was included in the 1994 MoU following its creation in 2000.
The project is intended to resolve water-sharing issues between Haryana and Rajasthan that have persisted for nearly three decades.
