Education Policy

Education policy encompasses the framework of legislative, administrative, and structural guidelines that govern the regulation, equity, quality, and delivery of primary, secondary, and higher education in India.

Under Social Issues

UPSC frames questions on education policy by testing candidates on the transition from input-driven targets to outcome-oriented metrics, such as foundational literacy and graduate employability. Questions typically demand a critical assessment of implementation bottlenecks, institutional governance, and equity concerns like the digital divide. Candidates are expected to evaluate how policy reforms balance state regulatory oversight with institutional autonomy across diverse socio-economic contexts.
