• Some state councils maintain independent, parallel registries and have resisted full migration to the central portal.
• Consequences of fragmented registries include delays in inter-state transfers, credential verification for overseas employment, and inefficient resource deployment.
• Lack of a centralized registry poses risks to patient safety by allowing unverified individuals or those with revoked licenses to practice.
• A live tracking system is essential for mobilizing specialized nursing personnel during public health emergencies and natural disasters.
