Bengaluru Police arrested a caregiver, Vijayalakshmi, at the Little Buds Day Care center located at Capgemini following allegations of physical and mental abuse of children.

An FIR has been registered under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (criminal intimidation) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
Allegations include beating, dragging, forcible handling, confinement in washrooms, and pouring water on children who cried or caused disturbances.
A special team led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) is reviewing all available footage from the daycare center.

Bengaluru Police arrested Sujatha, a former caregiver at a creche within the Capgemini IT firm premises, following allegations of child abuse.
This is the second arrest in the case, following the arrest of caregiver Vijayalakshmi.
Sujatha is accused of orchestrating the recording of abuse videos via an accomplice and circulating them, leading to charges under the IT Act.
The investigation suggests the motive was a personal financial dispute and subsequent termination of service.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident.

Karnataka government is planning to appoint a nodal agency to monitor all creches (daycare centers) in the state.
