The court mandate requires authorities to identify a separate open space near the disputed site for the Muslim community to offer Friday namaz between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Supreme Court emphasized that the order must be implemented 'in letter and spirit'.
The court's intervention followed reports that the site initially identified by the administration was approximately two kilometres away from the complex.
The Solicitor-General, representing the Centre and the State government, stated that the currently earmarked space is about 900 metres from the disputed site.
